Which hat do I have on now???

For those of you who know me fairly well, you know I wear a bunch of different hats... which is perhaps why I sometimes have a hell of a time answering the question "What's your job?"

The hat that I'm wearing right now as I type this blog entry is martial anthropologist.

My master, David C.K. Lin, has just finished the first book on Combat Shuai-Chiao, and I'm in the process of editing it in the English language. This is one hell of an undertaking, and I'm glad that I have something urgent that's going to keep me relatively stationary for a while. The flu's almost out of my system, but I know that given the chance, I'd be pushing it way too much, too soon.

Lots of martial arts related writing to crank out this week. Thank God I love what I do, otherwise I'd get sick of it so fast!

Better get back to work and gut out another couple of hours while I can.

I admire all the hats that you wear. Your son & I will be cheering you on in the background while you complete this project. We will be looking forward to spending family-nourishing time when you finish (or desire breaks).

Fun stuff Doc! I noticed some new pictures up top, I think - Scotland and... GYMBOREE(?)! The birthday pic is priceless.

Brother Rannoch, I am blessed to say that all the work I've put into my life through almost 2 decades now has been for the singular purpose of crafting a life doing what I love for a living... And it's paid off in spades!

And going back to my social synergy thing, I am deeply pleased that for the most part, my days revolve around interactions with people I really enjoy spending time with. Not just folks who are tolerable, but people whom I look forward to being with. That's a rarity and a gift from God.

Boris-san, you're right on about the pics. Scotland, and a place called "Pump It Up" that's kind of like a Gymboree. We had Squealie's 2nd birthday there. Looking forward to seeing you again soon, too, my friend.
